Living Room: Industrial Factory Cart Table
The next step in our living room re-do was to find a fabulous coffee table and rug that better suited the direction I’m heading towards in my decorating style. That’s when I laid eyes on Z Gallerie’s version of the Factory Cart Table. I had been seeing these all over, including Restoration Hardware’s version. Before making our investment, we went to both stores to inspect both versions in person. We found Z Gallerie’s to be far superior in quality, and was better priced.
The old wood planks and heavy iron detail speaks volumes to me. Made from reclaimed wood from old abandoned buildings, there are quirks and imperfections throughout this table, making it all the more perfect to me. If you would like to learn a little more about the amazing company who actually hand crafts these tables, you can visit them here.
Weighing in at 200 lbs, this table is extremely sturdy. The number sequence detail above the iron wheel grabs my eye every time I walk by it. Like the new jute rug? A recent Home Goods find. I love the contrast of the smooth texture of the cool black iron against the thick, nubby jute.

A recent flea market find, this old portable typewriter was a definite keeper. I love placing curious objects within arms reach of my seating areas. Great conversation starter.
To make it a little more interesting, I found a thank you letter, written by Marilyn Monroe, to the German Consulate General which read “Dear Mr. von Fuehlsdorff, Thank you for your champagne. It arrived, I drank it, and I was gayer. My best, Marilyn Monroe.” I printed it out from my computer, using an old style typewriter font called “typical writer”, and rolled it inside my typewriter.

As a side note, while I was on Z Gallerie’s website, I noticed they carry my New York wall art that so many of you have inquired about.

I am totally in love with your house! That table is fantastic, That is the look I like to go for because then it's comfortable for even the guys in the house. Right now our coffee table is an old beat up door on 2 urns and it works great with some of the softer stuff around it. Every room in your house is full of inspiration, Thank you for sharing ~ Theresa

Hi Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteI love your new blog look!
I love, love "Z Gallerie" I just bought a few things from them last week, but did not see the table at the store I was shopping in. I would have noticed it for sure! I adore it and would have purchased it too. I like it better also!it's smaller and has more fun and style to it. I have really enjoyed your post today.
Take care,
Elizabeth

Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteI thought the before was perfect, but the after is even better, if that is possible. I adore the old cart, the type writer and the pillows are SO wonderful. I am (trying to kind of) copying your style in your dining room. I love the way you have put the silver and white together. My walls are yellow, but I love your style and I am emulating it, kind of, as best I can. You are a great inspiration to me.
Hugs, Cindy S
