Mama said there’d be days like this - GIVEAWAY
Interestingly enough, my day started out pretty good. I was up by 5:30am, dressed and ready to head out the door for a little shopping at the flea market with my friend Laurie. The two of us, fumbling around in the dark without a flashlight, dressed like two little Eskimo's must have been quite a site.
I was thrilled to find my friend Cheryl there, selling a set of 6 dining chairs that had my name written all over them like nobody’s business. I measured them and called Adam at home. He measured our chairs at home and called me back. It was all good. We loaded all 6 chairs in the back of my pick-up and headed on our way home.
I brought the new chairs into our dining room, swapped them out with the old ones, started preparing to photograph what I’ve been working on in our living room, along with the new dining room chairs I just scored…and then it happened…
My camera froze up on me.
My beloved Canon Rebel XT decided to fold up its arms, look at me square in the face and say “nah, I don’t feel much like having my buttons pressed today” and it even gave me the finger. Okay, maybe not.
So my camera is now at the camera medic (a.k.a. local camera shop) not to be ready until tomorrow, which means I’m going to have to ask you to wait, just a bit longer. Is it just me, or is this sounding a little familiar, minus all the anxiety.
Since I couldn’t bear to let you down, especially if you’ve read down this far, I came up with a super lovely consolation prize, with a little help from my friend Laurie at Bella Inspirations. She was kind enough to give us one of her ruffled burlap table runners to give away to one of you lucky readers, here on my Blog!
To enter the giveaway, simply leave a comment on this post. Giveaway ends at Midnight, March 31st. Winner will be announced April 1st. Don’t want to wait for the giveaway to end? You can buy them here and here. The runner being offered in this Giveaway measures 96 1/2” x 16 1/2”.

Do one or more of the following:
1. Leave a comment on Laurie’s blog. She likes getting comments.
2. Post about this giveaway on your blog, and link back to this post.
Want to earn extra credit?

(use that Chase commercial with the girl looking over the menu - she says "love it" and that is the voice I am using).
Ok - well, if you must make me choose....I'd have to say that I am loving your new coffee table, the wood mantel and the huge mirror in your living room. And then there are the shelves in the kitchen, your old bibles, the hall tree.....can I just move in?

ReplyDeletewww.rufflednest.blogspot.com - I hope we can throw a lot of business her way : )
OH, BTW, I totally agree with the reader about the sewing...I wish I could sew better. On paper I can sew like no bodies business...but cloth...well, it betrays me.
ReplyDeleteNow for my last comment...Your home has truly inspired me - I love so much about it, but I think my favorite is your color scheme and the way you mix everything together. You have a talent for displaying everything so nicely without it looking cluttered! LOVE the giant chalkboard in your dining room and the shelving in there as well...AND your fireplace makeover : )
ReplyDeleteLove ALL your ideas! table runner is sooo very, very nice. I could use one just like it!
ReplyDeleteDonna
I cannot wait to see your new chairs and the L room pics! i am not a very patient girl. and camera doctors take much too long. Maybe you could just buy a new camera and use it until yours is fixed and then return the other one. Hmmmm that is probably more trouble than it is worth (and a bit dishonest too) so i guess i will wait. thanks for sharing

My favorite part of your home would truthfully be 'your vision' for it. Honestly when I saw the before pics of the outside & in I thought to myself, 'I would have been insulted if an agent brought me here' . But there is something unbelievably awesome about taking a trasher & turning it into a dream cottage. Hats off to you & your main man for getting down & dirty, sourcing the products you need, & staying true to your ideals. If I had to pick a room, it would be the kitchen just because of the dramatic change. I just love your site, I've read it for years. I think this is the first time I've commented tho. Lisa
ReplyDeleteI would love to be entered to win that table runner. Thank you and Laurie for hosting such a sweet giveaway.

That is lovely. My favorite part of cottage 8? Well, that's taxing my brain, because I love it all! If (IF) I were pressed though, I'd probably have to go with the kitchen. It's so calm and soothing and I adore the fact that you used my favorite cabinets from my favorite shop, IKEA. The refrigerator is of course FANTASTIC and makes me want to grab some bead board and glue it to mine. I don't think the Army, who owns my refrigerator as we live in military housing, might no be too happy with me. One day though, that is so going to happen in my house.
ReplyDeleteAnd your dining room! Can I include that in the kitchen? I love your dining room. The shelves are magnificent and I want to explore every little item on them. ;)
My favourite room is the dining room. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it. We are renovating atm and your home is such an inspiration.

ReplyDeleteOk, I am going for the extra credit. When I look at your pictures of Cottage 8, you know actual people live there, it is not perfection for pictures, but life shows through and it make your look more attainable for all of us.

ReplyDeleteI adore your dining room best!!! I love the way you put together a gorgeous room just using creams, whites, silver and browns. Anyway, I love it so much that I decorated my new dining room buffet with that as my inspiration! I would love to have the runner, it would go perfectly in there! If I don't win it, I guess I will have to make one! Everything in your cottage is so gorgeous, I love all of your vintage collections, too.

My favorite part of your home is your dining room/kitchen!!! Does that count as two rooms or just one? I see it as one GREAT space with the french doors and open feel. I want to be an artichoke on your table so I can enjoy the view of the whole room and feel the sun on my back! Please enter my name for the lovely burlap runner. Thanks for all the inspiration you provide us!!
