Hello Friends. December’s been a blur of warm, home cooked meals and holiday lit drives, late night snuggling under hand knit blankets and cider by the warm crackling fire, recovering from the worst ever 3-week flu, and moving into a retail store. What? Yes, you read that correctly. I’ve moved into a brick and mortar store, where I have my own booth in a small corner spot with a window. More details on that later.
Over the weekend, I decided it was time to pull down our Fall decorated mantel, and bring in some winter inspired holiday festiveness to this place. Of all the seasons, I think winter feels most at home here. I love gathering things I already have, repurposing, and decorating with natural, found materials.
The warmest seat in the house on these super cold nights, I love our fireplace and the comfort it provides…
Brown paper packages wrapped up in green ribbon and vintage ruffled music sheet paper ribbon…
A simple pair of burlap stockings, made by my dear friend Laurie, and some gathered logs…
Cotton branches seem to make their way into everything I do. This time of year, it reminds me of fluffy white, billowy snow…
I recently found three old Sabbath gospel song books, dated December 1887, over 125 years old. I was thrilled to find a perfect spot to display them…
I recently got these hand painted plaid ornaments from my friend Sandi…
All of the greenery was courtesy of the tree farm down the road, where they’ll happily give you free fresh cuttings. The flocked pinecone branches I’ve had for several years, and the branchlers I’ll be carrying in my new space ; )
